Why we started North Star Permanent Lighting
Most lighting companies on Long Island fall into one of two categories. Either they sell the project and hand it off to a subcontractor nobody has met, or they are one person with a truck who disappears after the check clears. The homeowner gets stuck in the middle. No real point of contact, no accountability when something goes wrong, and no confidence that the crew on the ladder actually knows what they are doing.
In 2025, four partners started North Star Permanent Lighting to fix that. Mike Amatulli and Kevin Scott brought the business and marketing experience to handle the client side properly. Tyler and Garry Meigel brought decades of construction and trades experience to handle every installation personally. The idea was simple: build a company where the people who sell the work are the same people who stand behind it.
For you, that means the person who walks your property during the consultation is connected to the crew who shows up on install day. Questions get answered by someone who was there. Warranty issues get handled by the same company that did the work. You are not a ticket number passed between departments. You are a neighbor hiring a local crew.
